Hello friend, I put below some advice on how to behave and the normal vital values of a dog and the list of emergency numbers. Please note that numbers beginning with 0900 may not work if you have had them blocked by your telephone operator. These numbers are overtaxed.

How to react?

  • Stay calm and reassure your dog
  • Call your veterinarian or the one on duty (depending on the time)
  • Do not give your dog any medicine without the advice of a veterinarian
  • Beware, in case of severe pain, your dog may react aggressively

Normal vital values of a dog

  • Rectal body temperature: between 38 and 39 degrees Celsius.
    Beware, the hot nose is not a good indicator of fever, it's a popular belief!
  • Heart rate: between 60-160/min depending on the size of the dog
  • Respiratory rate: between 14-30/min. depending on the size of the dog
  • Color of oral mucosa: pink
